4 week class focusing on the basics of puppy care and socialization.  This class will include topics on housetraining, socialization, grooming and nutrition. A great class for new puppy parents - we ask for a $5.00 donation each week.

Our Puppy classes are designed to socialize your puppy and begin teaching them manners and impulse control in a positive, fun setting.  We introduce bubbles, teeters, tunnels, noises and other fun stimulus as well as handling, and basic obedience skills. Puppies entering the Puppy STAR class will have a chance to take the puppy STAR test at the end of 6 weeks to earn their AKC Puppy STAR Designation.  Go to AKC.org for more information.

The Puppy STAR class is for puppies from 8 wks - 20 wks. Starting Jan 2009 can earn their AKC Puppy STAR Certification

Beyond Play is for puppies that have completed Puppy Star or another level 1 puppy class somewhere. Puppies up to 1 year are welcome.

Basic Obedience covers a variety of topics.  We start with basic name recognition, sits and downs with a lot of focus on loose-leash walking and recalls.  Handling exercises and manners are a very important part of all of our classes. 

Beyond Basics - Focuses on more advanced work.  Formal heel, 3 minute stays, emergency recalls and more.  This class includes an "out and about" lesson at a local park the last night of class - weather permitting.

This class is designed for those dogs that have taken a basic class (maybe a long time ago) and now just need a refresher of the basics.  This class is truly designed to work with your needs and we focus mainly on class requests. 

This is a great class for those who want to teach more skills outside an obedience class setting.  This is a fun-filled class where clients can earn prizes for their skills.  You can teach your dog the hokey-pokey, the moon-walk, jumping bean, delivery dog and more!  This class is 5 weeks and the 5th week is spent playing the board game "My Dog Can Do That"

Open to all dogs that have had at least 2 classes and have a basic understanding of sit, down, and off.

Have your dog certified as a Canine Good Citizen with AKC.  Dog does not have to be a pure breed to become certified as a good citizen.  Check out AKC.org for more information on CGC testing and certification then check the training schedule on the Ruff House website for class and testing dates.  Remember you DONT have to take the class to test your dog.
